Truck down tonight?

Work the list in this order

1 — Mobile units

A truck that won't move needs a unit that rolls to it. Filter the list toMobile and call down it — and get the trip fee stated before any truck rolls.

2 — 24/7 claims

Shops claiming round-the-clock service are marked. A claim isn't a promise — but a 2am answer starts with the shops that say they answer.

3 — Tow vs road-call

Limping at 5mph under a derate? Drive it in — skip the tow. Dead pedal or crank-no-start? Ask for the tow price and the call-out trip fee on the phone before either truck rolls.

Before you call

Three questions that save the night

Ask these three on the call. A listing here means the shop’s public site was read and recorded — not that the shop was screened, ranked, or endorsed.

1 — Name the symptom

“Derated to 5 on the Gulf Freeway, DPF lamp flashing” gets a real answer. “Truck broke” gets a guess. Photograph the dash before you dial.

2 — The trip fee, up front

For a mobile unit, the first number is what it costs to roll — and whether any of it credits toward the repair if they do the work. Ask before the truck moves.

3 — Diagnose before parts

A shop that reads the fault before quoting sensors is a shop being straight with you. Ask if the diagnostic hour counts toward the repair — many here do it.
